As we know IOS and Mac OS are two different platforms, where iOS is aimed at mobile devices like iPhone and iPad, while Mac OS for MacBook and iMac PC. So, apps for iOS will not work on Mac devices, and vice versa.
However, if a report that appears recently is true, then Apple will allow developers to create one application that can run on iOS and Mac. The idea is to give users a set of applications that can work on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. It is said if Apple will combine both platform applications starting late next year. The plan allows app developers to design one application that works with the touch screen as well as the mouse and trackpad.
According to a Bloomberg report, the reason Apple will adopt this approach is to increase the choice of apps for Mac users who have been famously crisp because Mac apps are not as much as iOS or at least not so often get new feature updates like iOS apps. While companies regularly update iOS apps with new features, it can take months to bring the same features to a Mac.
If Apple allows developers to create one app for both platforms, this will bridge the gap and bring new features to Mac users at a faster time. Apple reportedly will introduce this change in the fall of next year. But Apple itself is currently not confirmed the emergence of this news.
